Well, you're here at the #windowmaker channel FAQ. So, obviously, you have already gone to Undernet's IRC channel #windowmaker. First of all, we would like to welcome you to the channel and we hope that the experience was what you were/are looking for.
This channel has been created for several reasons. The idea for this channel came from FreakzZ, who is the channel manager, and is supported my a multitude of great people. If it weren't for each person, this channel would not exist. First, the channel has been brought online to allow users of Window Maker, who only IRC on Undernet, the convenience of not having to login to another IRC network. Secondly, it has come online with a goal to be one of the best Window Maker resources available on the net. This is a help and discussion channel.
The purpose of this FAQ is two-fold. First, we want to answer some Frequently Asked Questions in regards to Window Maker. Secondly, we'll discuss guidelines that users should observe while visiting.
Let's first cover the channel guidelines. Many 'well established' channels on Undernet have a resource of some kind explaining the guidelines/rules of that channel. This channel is no different. We will outline some guidelines that we suggest you follow. Failure to do so may result in undesirable consequences.

The general topic of discussion is Window Maker, of course. However, this can also include other related topics such as Window Manager discussion. Window Manager wars will not be tolerated. The list can go on and on. Just stay within reason.
It is incredibly rude and irritating to not be polite. Use common sense and always head to the old addage 'Do unto others, as you would have them do to you'. If it is determined that you're not being polite or the other person is/appears to be offended, you will be booted.
Most of the people (all of them, really) in #windowmaker are volunteers. None of us gets paid for wasting our time here. We don't owe anyone an answer, ever. Take it as it comes, If you don't receive an answer, don't parrot.
Please keep vulgar language to a minimum. It can be tolerated in moderation, but repeated use is offensive to many and will result in severe consequences. As stated before the channel is English only, so unless an op replies in your native language, keep non-english in non-english channels please.
